Now that's a sign!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the song that's playing in the shop as I write this is singing "Ladies and Gentlemen" over and over. I guess it manifested itself in my writing. How apres peau (apropos?). Anyways, here's what we've all been waiting for. Or at least what I've been waiting for. It only took 2 strong men, 3 tall ladders, 6 drill bits, 1 trip to Lowes, 6 screws, and 2 months to complete.
Maybe you can find us a little easier.

We're really excited for the sign!

Oh, and have you seen my new favorite piece?

Isn't she pretty?
All that punched tin. I'm not usually into the country tin look, but I made an exception, and I'm glad I did because it fills in the space in an, otherwise, very sad back room.
I coincidentally found this other piece with punched tin. It's sort of a buttercream color. I know it's hard to tell in the picture, but it's quite nice as well.
Kelly's mom informed me it's called a Pie Chest. I'm ok with that.
Don't be surprised if you find a pie when you open the door.

Settees and Vanities.

Now you're gonna kill me because I'm blogging about two things that have already sold, but I'd like to get your opinion on the matter.
Settee(s) and Vanities.
I thought for a split second that these two might be things of the past.
But I just went ahead and bought them because they were so darn cute, and in such good condition. Honestly, I even took the mirror off the vanity thinking no one uses vanities anymore. I was going to list it as a desk, until someone asked if it was a vanity and if they could buy it.
Why, yes it is!
And then, dear Sorah walks in from the card store a couple doors down, all excited by the Settee sitting in the window.
I hated telling her it was already sold.
So am I wrong to go looking for more settees and/or vanities?
And how the heck do you spell the plural form of settee in the first place?
Someone help a girl out!

Here's a little summary of everything newly brought in since this weekend:
a lovely sofa
bamboo coffee table
pottery barn vanity mirror
shabby chic dresser
cutesy little lamp
wicker pub table and stools
Please see the inventory page for pictures and prices.

Buckle Your Seat Belts!

This past weekend was the last of my husband's softball tournaments. This time it was in Geneva, Ohio.
Lake Erie is absolutely gorgeous.
T turned 8 months old yesterday! Crazy. We celebrated with grape juice at the grape festival they had in Geneva.
We also couldn't pass up these two neat saw horses we found at a yard sale. They'll soon be re-purposed into a unique, little desk. Stay tuned for pictures of that.
I heard we had a great weekend back at the shop, so as usual Tony and I will be hunting around for more goodies these next few days.
Check back for what we find.

Me and T in front of the lake.

She loves kisses!

Farm Funk.

I clearly was having writer's block when coming up with a title for this post. But really, I'm stuck on this farm table look. I love it. I can't get enough of it. I just hope you feel the same way.
Introducing the "mini farm table"

Also, his first cousin, the "medium size farm table/desk"

On a completely different note, some gentleman came in this evening asking if we had a hall tree.
Why how funny that you ask, sir!
This is what I showed him:

"Hall Tree"
$75
I think it'd make a great hall tree. Throw some coats on it. Hang a scarf, or two. An umbrella. And, voila, a more literal approach to a hall tree. He considered it. I saw that look in his eyes.

Don't forget to check the inventory tab for more new furniture. Although I'm sure I'll end up writing about the other pieces we got in at some point.

For your further entertainment, you can check out my friend Lisa's blog Making Home Homemade for an excerpt I did on going to auctions. Lisa is a very talented graphic designer in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has an adorable blog that tracks all kinds of adventures from owning/ decorating a home, to featuring different guest bloggers on all kinds of specialty topics.

Oh, and since I have such luck at getting someone to hang my sign (really no luck at all), I got this fancy little flag.

Hopefully it'll help you identify the store a little easier.

Newbies.

Fresh off the boat. Or my husband's truck.
New Consignment pieces include this Baker Loveseat, a beautiful desk, chair, famous reproduction tapestry- "A mon seul desir", and french country ottoman (not pictured).

Originally $2795
here it's $600

Glass knobs are my favorite.

Desk and Chair Combo
$500

Deal of the day:
Glass Coffee Table
$88

Since we have so many fabulous lighting options here at RDN (yes, I just shortened our name), I'm going to try running a special on one lucky item every other week. Don't worry, I'll post the newest deal when it's time.
So, drum roll please.
This week's special is this gorgeous wall sconce by Kalco.
It's one of my faves.
More beautiful in person.
And it's only $115. If you catch it this week.
(If you look closely, you see the beautiful crystal tear drops, sadly the wall behind it doesn't do it justice).

Ikea. Like or Gripe?

T's first time in the front of the cart. She loved it!

I went to Ikea yesterday. I know, gasp, Jordan went to Ikea, how could she? That's what you're thinking, right?
Well, folks I have to admit I still like the place for what it is. El cheapo. My brother just moved out of our house and I have a whole new room to redecorate.  Ikea's the only place I can find curtains that are 96 inches long and not over $100. In fact, mine were under $15 for two panels. The only place cheaper than that is at my store. However, the only panels I have for sale are red and gold striped (just not in my gray and yellow color scheme, darn).
On a different note, my husband did, in fact, save the day a few days ago. The poor shop was looking oh so bare and rather picked over. But now it's packed with lots of goodies. Here are a few pictures of what he got. I must say he's getting good at the shopping.

Tree Top Table $140
Teak Lounge Chair $150
Buffet $210

Cedar Chest $110
Retro Wood End Table $50

Check out the inventory tab for more updates on furniture in the shop!

T's new toy from Ikea wiped her out!

Happy Post Labor Day.

I hope you had as much fun as this little girl did!

Obsessed with "ba-ba's" hat.
I heard Saturday was a very busy day here at Redesignation. Thanks Uncle Ryan for helping out while we were down in Roanoke, VA at a Softball Tournament. They raised $29k at this tournament and it all goes straight towards a school in Paraguay. Awesome.
While I was exploring the land down there, I noticed they have a ton of consignment furniture shops! I mean a ton.
Good thing I don't live in Roanoke, or I might be out of a job!
Anyways, I'm back and the gross amount of sales while I was gone is forcing me to scramble to get new furniture in. Not a bad problem to have, just gotta call in some backup, that's all.
So hopefully there'll be some new stuff in TODAY. And if not today, then soon.
And, as always, if you have something to consign, drop me an email at shopredesignation@gmail.com
I've had a lot of requests for love seat/lounge chairs.
Also, here are those chairs I redid. Not exactly the yellow I was going for, but it'll do. For now.
I'm also going to have to stuff them with more stuffing, but you get the idea.
Please excuse the very bare living room. It's constantly a work in progress. Just imagine a distressed table in the middle (it's still in our garage). And yes I said living room. There used to be couches in here, until I put them in the "dining" room. I'm unconventional, what can I say?
I'll have to take you on a tour of our little bungalow some day.

New hours.

Hey all you Redesignationers out there. Just in case I forgot to mention, we're now closed on Sunday, and it just so happens that we've always been closed on Mondays. So we'll see ya next Tuesday through Saturday. Happy Labor Day!
